Sweet Pea 'Promise' is a highly perfumed variety that produces ruffled blooms of fuchsia pink and brilliant white. Perfect for growing somewhere you can appreciate their fragrance, like along a walkway or in a well-placed container. Can also be cut for a bouquet or two.

- Pruning Prune in early spring before growth begins.
Start seeds undercover in pots, thinning to individual plants when large enough (5-7cm). To plant, cover seeds with an inch of soil. Soaking seeds in water overnight can aid germination, although this is not essential. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Pinch the top of the growing shoot out when 2 inches high to encourage stronger side shoots. Transplant when young seedlings are about 2-3cm once the danger of frost has passed. Space 15-30cm apart. Provide netting or a trellis for support when plant is 10-15cm tall. Do not ingest seeds as they are toxic.
