Lettuce Salad Bowl Red is a long-lasting, deep red plant that can be used for all kinds of dishes in the kitchen. This variety produces bronzed leaves that will provide a regular supply of leaves over several months. Harvest singular leaves to encourage the plant to grow new ones, rather than pulling the full plant out of the ground. Sow seeds directly into the ground in March to August.

Alternatively, these seeds can be grown indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting outdoors. Cover seed lightly with a few inches of fine soil and firm in gently. Thin young seedlings to one plant per spot (give about 10cm space).
