Cauliflower Italian Di Sicilia Violetto is a regional Sicilian variety. A medium-late choice for the garden. Holds excellent flavour and can also produce side shoots after the main head has been cut. This purple variety will turn green when cooked, but if steamed, will hold its colour.

Start seeds indoors from March to June for an early crop. Sow in a quarter inch of compost. Keep moist. Will germinate within 5-8 days. Sow directly outside frm early April. Transplant seedlings outside 2-3 weeks before the final frost. Older seedlings don't transplant well, so try and get them outside as soon as possible. Transplant seedlings in late June to July for a December to January harvest.
