Betony, also known as purple betony or bishop's wort, is a gorgeous perennial wildflower that every gardener should have in their gardens. Their purple-pink flowers are always smothered with bees and butterflies - they just love them! A member of the mint family that flowers from mid to late summer.

Sow indoors into pots or trays from late winter to early spring. They make take some time to germinate, but just make sure the soil is kept moist during this time. Direct sowing outside can be done from autumn or in early spring, but germination can be harder and is less reliable. Transplant outside once they€™re large enough to handle in summer. They will flower in their second year.
