- Soil Type Moist, well drained soil
Sow seeds somewhere warm 6-8 weeks before the final frost, covering them lightly with a fine soil. It can take roughly 10-20 days for them to germinate - longer if they're not kept somewhere dark. Keep the soil moist throughout germination. For a later bloom, sow the seeds directly outside in spring once the threat of frost has passed. You could even sow them outside in late summer or late autumn for areas with mild winters. Gradually acclimatise indoor grown plants outside once the threat of frost has passed.
