Deepest of blue in colour.A hardy perennial ideal from the French Pyranees. Long stems at 50-60cm and flowering May-June. Very hardy but only make appearances in May and flower soon after. Invisible but not dead untill then.

Iris latifolia, also known as 'English Iris', is a cottage garden favourite. Grow in well-drained, neutral soil, in areas that reach plenty of sunlight. Will thrive in borders, containers, or even through grassy lawns where they will naturalise and duplicate if left undisturbed. Water throughout the season, especially if the soil feels dry to touch. Ensure you don't keep the soil too wet, as this can waterlog the soil and damage the bulb.
