Delphiniums are a staple for the modern British gardener and this variety is a particularly eye-catching colour combination. Delphinium Blue Jay produces tall spikes of flowers in a stunning shade of purple-blue with contrasting black centres. Perfect for a tall border or patio containers, they also make excellent cut flowers for the vase. Height 1.5m. Flowers June to September. Supplied as UK-grown 7cm module plants.

Do not allow the ground to dry out in the summer and water regularly during the flowering period to help prolong their blooms. Delphiniums are able to tolerate most types of garden soil. Plant in prepared (well-drained) soil, in full sun or partial shade. Dig a hole that’s big enough to house the module. Fill around the modules with soil and firm them down gently. Water well once planted.
