Wow and inspire with our gorgeous new fluted variety, Tulip Sonnet. Produces bi-coloured blooms of deep purple, striped with a golden yellow edge. The lily flowering range are some of our most popular tulips due to their unique fluted petals that gracefully reflex suspended on tall, fine wiry stems, the whole effect resembling a lily. With its height of 50cm, Sonnet makes a great cut flower and is striking when planted in the bed or border. Flowers April-May.

- Planting Plant 8-10cm deep and approx 15cm apart.
- Soil Type Well drained, fertile soil.
- Pruning Remove faded flowers, leave the stem and foliage until they have turned yellow/brown.
Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, before any frost. Find an area of soil that is well-drained and moist and plant your bulbs at twice their depth and spaced apart by 10-15cm. Ensure they are properly covered, you should not be able to see them on the surface of the soil. Position in an area that you know receives plenty of sunlight but is also sheltered from harsh winds. Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
