Native to eastern mediterranean, it is a hardy perennial growing to 25cm. Flowers are paeony shaped up to 5cm in diameter. Ideal for borders and cut flowers. Supplied as 6-7cm corms.

Plant 5cm deep and 10cm apart, pressing the tubers firmly into the soil with theclaws downwards. The tubers can be easily preserved in a dry state and may be planted at any time. A sunny position suits them best, as long as it is not exposed to strong, cold winds.
