The Blood Red leafed Japanese Maple. A remarkable small tree with stunning crimson foliage which deepens to a crimson-purple as the leaf ages. From spring to autumn there is no finer colour in the garden. Supplied in a 12cm pot at 25-30cm.

Not necessary, but you can cut dead wood in Spring.
Plant in fertile, well drained and moist soil. Acer shrubs prefer sunny or partial shaded areas, and can also be grown in pots. If growing in pots make sure that the pot is large enough to support the shrub and that it also has plenty of drainage holes. Use John Innes compost if planting in pots.
Acers should be watered on a regular basis, which will be even more important in hot Summers. Although its not necessary, you can prune back or cut dead wood in Spring.
